HAPPY MARDI GRAS !rainy day💜💚💛☔️
"OUR PROJECT BREAKS THE USUAL VISUAL APPEARANCE OF BREAD. DYED IT’S SUDDENLY NO LONGER A DELICIOUS AND APPETIZING FOODSTUFF. BY THE UNUSUAL COLORS IT VISUALLY TRICKS SOMETHING TOXIC THAT WE DON’T WANT TO EAT ANY MORE – THE BREAD LOSES ITS FUNCTION AS A STAPLE FOOD.
DESPITE A RICH SET TABLE THE SOBER COLORS KEEP THE RECIPIENT AT DISTANCE AND FORCES HIM TO FIND THE UNFAMILIAR.”

I am clean now, but because drugs are absent from my body does not mean I do not miss them (and hate them at the same time). I burst out crying when I read this quote today because of how sadly accurate it is to me now (I have read the book more than once). There are days when I remember how easy it was to take drugs. How your problems can dissolve, quite literally, in minutes. But only for the moment. The calm brought on by drugs is only an illusion. You can’t run, but you can hide for a while. Eventually you’ll be getting high just to forget what you had to do to get there. Knowing this difference is what keeps me sober today.
